Yule Days Sunday Moves Across Green Mountain Falls, One Stop at a Time

November 5, 2026

Where will you catch Santa on Sunday, December 6? In Green Mountain Falls this year, you get four chances. The 2026 Yule Days schedule puts him with the horses in the early afternoon, then at Church in the Wildwood, then at the Green Box Campus, and finally at Gazebo Park for the 5:15 p.m. tree lighting. The rest of the day is built the same way. Each activity has its own venue and its own time window, and some of those windows overlap. If you show up at Sallie Bush Community Building and stay there, you'll miss most of the weekend.

Yule Days is free and runs Saturday and Sunday, December 5 and 6, 2026. It's presented by Building Ute Pass Community, Green Box Arts, the Town of Green Mountain Falls, Cantina Verde, The Outlook Lodge, Colorado Horse Hay, Church of the Wildwood and Elite Equine. That's a long partner list for a town this size, and it explains why the event is spread across so many venues instead of staying under one roof.

Saturday Is the Craft Fair Day

The holiday craft fair is at Sallie Bush Community Building, 10795 Ute Pass Avenue. It runs 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sunday. Those Sunday hours matter. The fair closes at 3 p.m., which falls in the middle of the afternoon program. If shopping the fair is your priority, Saturday gives you seven hours with nothing else on the schedule competing for your time.

The Building Ute Pass Community vendor page lists sellers with handmade soaps, jewelry, pottery, ornaments and other crafts, including:

  • Mama Pigeon Soap
  • Blue Sage Healing Arts & Jewelry
  • Lady With Altitude
  • Jann Martin Pottery
  • Miek's

Vendor registration also runs through that page. If you make something yourself and have been thinking about selling at a Ute Pass event, that's where to start.

If you shop on Saturday, Sunday morning is free for other things, and Sunday afternoon has a lot packed into it.

Sunday, Stop by Stop

The Sunday program runs from 1 to 6 p.m. Here is the posted schedule in order, as listed on PeakRadar's Yule Days page:

  1. 1–3 p.m.: Horses and Santa, plus crafts
  2. 1:30 p.m.: Yule Log Hunt and Bigfoot Race at Horse Wellness Meadow
  3. 2–4 p.m.: Cookie decorating and Santa at Church in the Wildwood
  4. 3–5 p.m.: Ornament painting and Santa at the Green Box Campus
  5. 5:15 p.m.: Tree lighting and Santa at Gazebo Park
  6. After the lighting: Nite Caps and S'Mores at the Green Box Campus

The event description also mentions hay rides on Sunday.

Three of the stops have published street addresses. The other two don't:

Stop What happens there Sunday Where
Sallie Bush Community Building Craft fair, 10 a.m.–3 p.m. 10795 Ute Pass Avenue
Church in the Wildwood Cookie decorating and Santa, 2–4 p.m. 10585 Ute Pass Avenue
Gazebo Lake Park Tree lighting and Santa, 5:15 p.m. 100 Lake Street
Horse Wellness Meadow Yule Log Hunt and Bigfoot Race, 1:30 p.m. See the organizers' schedule
Green Box Campus Ornament painting 3–5 p.m.; Nite Caps and S'Mores after the lighting See Green Box Arts

The craft fair and the cookie table are both on Ute Pass Avenue. The tree lighting is at the lake. Green Box says its venues and installations are spread throughout Green Mountain Falls rather than at one address, so check the organizers' materials for the exact Green Box Campus location before you go.

Where the Windows Overlap

The schedule only works if you pick an order. The 1:30 Yule Log Hunt and Bigfoot Race starts in the middle of the 1–3 p.m. horses-and-Santa window. Cookie decorating opens at 2 p.m., while the horses are still out. Ornament painting starts at 3 p.m., the same hour the craft fair closes and the cookie tables keep going until 4 p.m.

A family with kids who want to race in the Bigfoot Race should be at Horse Wellness Meadow by 1:30, which pushes cookies and ornaments later into their windows. Anyone who skipped the fair on Saturday should head to Sallie Bush before 3 p.m., then go to the Green Box Campus for ornament painting, which runs until 5 p.m. Because Santa appears at four separate stops, nobody has to fit a photo into one narrow window.

From 3 p.m. on, every option leads to the same place. Ornament painting ends at 5 p.m., and the tree lighting at Gazebo Park is 15 minutes later. The day is designed to pull everyone down to the lake at the same time.

Before the Program Starts, the Skyspace Is Open

The craft fair doesn't open until 10 a.m. Sunday and the afternoon program doesn't start until 1 p.m., and Sunday is one of the Green Mountain Falls Skyspace's open days. Green Box Arts lists Skyspace hours as Thursday through Sunday, 8 a.m. until dusk. The hours vary by season and can change without notice. The James Turrell installation sits in the Red Butte Recreation Area above town. Green Box says you reach it from trailheads near Gazebo Lake or the Joyland parking area. Gazebo Lake is also where the day ends, so you can start and finish at the same spot.

Outside of scheduled showtimes, you can visit the Skyspace "in its natural state" without a ticket on open days. Formal shows require advance tickets, and weekend ticket sales are online only.

Temperature matters in early December. According to the Green Box Skyspace page, the Skyspace stays open in bad weather, but below 25 degrees Green Box cancels showings and closes the trail. Ticket holders get a transfer or a full refund when Green Box cancels. All other ticket sales are final. If you buy a sunrise show for Yule Days weekend, check the forecast first. The Skyspace also has a retractable roof, and some sunrise and sunset shows switch to closed-roof shows when there's precipitation.

If the trail is closed, the town's other Green Box art is down at street level. The Green Box public art page lists these works as currently on display:

  • Skye at Lakeview Terrace
  • Loveletter at Park and Mt. Esther Avenues
  • Phone of the Wind at the Town Overlook
  • Open House along the Anderson Trail
  • Communication X9 and Four Orbits at Mountain Road Corner
  • 226.5' ARC x 4 at the Green Box Farm Stand

Two works, Faime Walking and Schulhof's Curve, are on private property. You can only see them on guided art walks led by staff or artists. If the dog is coming along on a pre-program walk, Green Box requires leashes in public-art areas and allows only service animals in the Skyspace and indoor venues.

Gazebo Park at 5:15

PeakRadar calls the tree lighting at Gazebo Park the "annual" lighting and describes Yule Days as "a beloved tradition in Green Mountain Falls." Santa makes his last appearance of the day there. After the lighting, the schedule sends everyone back to the Green Box Campus for Nite Caps and S'Mores.

The park itself may look a little different from last year. In its September 2026 newsletter, the town said work on the Gazebo Lake bathrooms "should be starting" soon and that residents might notice activity in that area. The same newsletter asks drivers not to go past road closure signs in town.

PeakRadar's listing doesn't include parking or shuttle details, so contact Building Ute Pass Community at [email protected] before the weekend for logistics.

At Thetford Team Real Estate, we like Ute Pass events like Yule Days, where the whole day happens within walking distance.
